Presidential Nomination Speeches Capture America

Monday, October 15, 2012

The presidential nomination acceptance speeches were filled with excitement and optimism. The Republican party started off with their keynote speaker, Angel Rivera. He believes that "America is always breaking new ground and pushing new limit in this age of technology." However, he believes that the best decision for America is to elect Chris Furter for president.

Matt Lynch, the vice president for Chris Furter, started the Republican speeches. Even though he did work for the Hunter Ray campaign, he says that he has "always held Chris in high regard." Nicole's News thought that this was rude of Matt to say because he basically said that he always favored Chris over Hunter. Matt stated that the " President Obama and his democratic members of Congress are more concerned with the next election rather than the next generation." Matt seemed very confident up on stage as he accepted the vice president nomination. Chris Furter took the stage with confidence as well. His speaking skills did improve from last time, however, he was still sort of monotone. He stressed how America can help us achieve our dreams and how us Americans have helped him achieve his dreams of becoming the president of the United States. He was very humble about not saying he would achieve everything he promised but that he would try, which is what counts.

John Oh was the keynote speaker for the Democrats. He was attacking Chris Furter's statements on dreams saying that Rebekah Kim was the one who really wanted the American dreams because many immigrants dream of coming to America. Vice president Alex Bulischek did a great job of being a convincing and optimistic vice president nominee. He believes that we can totally get rid of inequality in America. His speech was very short and clear cut but it definitely got the message through. When Rebekah Kim took the stage, she was very thankful for the American people. She included a quote from Abraham Lincoln saying, " A divided house cannot stand." She wants to break down the barriers of inequality to help the overall well-being of America. She makes the American people feel unified when she says that "we" can help change America.

Next, the election will take place so stay tuned!

The news for you and the news for me- America needs Nicole's News!
